119 Bicycles Distributed By Adani Foundation To Economically Backward Students Near Kattupalli Port

The children in the vicinity of the Kattupalli panchayat walk long distances to their schools due to the lack of proper roads and unaffordability of other modes of transportation. Adani Foundation identified school students from economically backward families in the Voyalur, Thiruvellavoyal and Neidhavoyal Panchayats and made arrangement to alleviate the difficulties of these students with a view to reduce school dropouts.

These bicycles are made with special non-rusting alloys that do not corrode in the salty winds of the coastal areas. Hundreds of students have benefited under this initiative of the the Adani Foundation.

Today (6th January 2021), the Adani Foundation distributed 119 of these special alloy bicycles to students of the Thiruvellavoyal Government High School.

Mr. Illangovan, Head Master of Thiruvellaivayal Government High School addressed the gathering and the Voyalur Panchayat President Mr. V.G. Gopi presided over the distribution event.
Area Councillor Mrs. Mahalakshmi Prakash, Thiruvellavoyal Panchayat President Mr. Ravichandran, Thiruvellavoyal. Ward Member Mr. Thiagarajan, Voyalur Panchayat Vice President Mr. Rajesh and the Parent-Teacher Association President Mr. Tulukkanam presented bicycles to the students.

The event was attended by students, parents of students, the general public, the Senior officials of Adani Foundation and Adani Kattupalli Port.
