Adani Kattupalli Port is not log-jammed – says official spokesperson
All port operations were restricted by the Tamil Nadu state government due the inclement weather between 24th to 26th November 2020 due to the cyclonic storm Nivar. This restriction included the berthing of vessels and all yard operations. The Tamil Nadu ports have additionally have been impacted by the incessant rains and gusty winds caused by cyclonic storm Burevi.
Port operations have resumed following the Central and State Government Orders to resume normal operations post Burevi. The official spokesperson of Adani Kattupalli Port denied the allegations of congestion owing to shortage of resources.
The spokesperson further clarified that the Port had handled 18134 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) from 26th November till date. In addition they average 1660 TEU’s in gate movement operations everyday.
