Audi India launches new A8 L priced at ₹1.29 crore.

The Audi car has eight airbags, which can be upgraded to ten.


Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, launched its flagship sedan, the new A8 L, in India on Tuesday, priced at Rs.1.29 crore for the celebration edition and Rs.1.57 crore for the technology edition (all ex-showroom prices).

The new Audi A8 L, powered by a 3.0L TFSI (petrol) engine generating 340hp and 500 Nm of torque, goes from 0-100 kmph in 5.7 seconds, according to the company, adding that it provides a Vorsprung Durch Technik with a new design language and a slew of luxury features and technology options.

It has new dynamic digital matrix LED headlamps with an illuminated Audi logo and selectable animated projections for entry/exit. It has a new dual tone 48.26 cm (19 inch) alloy wheels with a five-arm turbine design and graphite grey polish, as well as a wider and sportier single-frame grille with chrome angles.

Rear seat recliner, comfort individual seats with massage and ventilation, heated foot massager with two massage programmes and three intensities, rear seat entertainment screens, head-up display, and Audi virtual cockpit are among the interior features. It also has an Audi smartphone interface, 30 colour ambient lighting, and a Bang & Olufsen advanced sound system with 3D sound.

In terms of safety, the new Audi A8 L features Audi pre-sense basic, which activates in milliseconds in the event of a collision to reduce the risk of injury, preventive self-tightening function for all seat belts front and rear, eight airbags (including front and rear seat side airbags) upgradeable to 10, and park assist plus, which includes 360-degree cameras with obstacle detection and manoeuvre assist.

Audi India also offers a five-year warranty as standard (extendable up to seven years), five-year roadside assistance as standard (extendable up to ten years), and a three-year comprehensive service package.
