Corporate Giants Reliance and Tata Group have stepped in to accelerate the pace in curtailing the impact of Covid -19 in India. The groups have announced that they would aid the Government by increasing the production of medical oxygen in India.
This would help in fighting against the deadly virus since we are witnessing a shortage in supply of oxygen.
Tata Group has mentioned in their Twitter forum that they will be importing 24 cryogenic containers to transport liquid oxygen and help ease the oxygen shortage in the country.
They further mentioned that “PM @narendramodi’s appeal to the people of India is laudatory and we at the Tata Group, are committed to doing as much as possible to strengthen the fight against Covid-19. To mitigate the oxygen crisis, here is one such effort to boost health Infrastructure”
Reportedly, Reliance Group is said to produce over 700 tonnes of medical oxygen a day at Jamnagar refineries, Gujarat. The refinery is said to have taken this massive step compared to their 100-tonne production a day. The initiative is said to be applied for badly affected Covid -19 states.
As part of their CSR initiative, Reliance will not be charging the transportation and supply of oxygen. Covid -19 has taken a massive hit on India. The spike in fatality rates and the daily increasing numbers in active cases urge for initiatives that can help fight against the lethal virus.
