Karnataka imposes 2 week lockdown – vaccination made available for age groups 18-44
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has imposed a 14 day full lockdown due to high spike of Covid cases in the state. The state is witnessing 34,000 new cases making it the highest single day surge witnessed by the state.
After an extensive cabin meeting, the lockdown is being imposed from today. Essential services will be allowed to function from 6AM to 10AM. No public transportation will be allowed during this period.
On Vaccination, The Chief Minister has tweeted “Covid-19 vaccine will be provided free of cost to citizens between 18-44 years of age at all govt vaccination centers across Karnataka. Union Govt vaccination drive for citizens above 45 years of age will continue. I urge all eligible to register themselves from April 28″.
The vaccination will be made available for the age group 18-44 starting from May 1st.
