Mass vaccination drive set to begin from May 1 – Cowin portal facing technical issues
Since the announcement of vaccination age pool being minimized to 18-44, a huge number of citizens have registered themselves in the CoWin portal.
Around 1.3 crores of Indians have registered themselves in the CoWin portal to get vaccinated as a precaution against the deadly Corona virus. The vaccination drive is set to begin from May 1(Saturday).
Reportedly, major technical issues seemed to have raised in the portal where citizens tried to get registered. Many complained that the portal did not respond and crashed several times leading to citizens unable to register themselves for the vaccine.
The Union Health Ministry on Wednesday clarified that the media reports that the server has crashed “are incorrect and are without any basis”. The Ministry said that it witnessed more than 80 lakh people registered themselves on the portal within 3 hours on Wednesday.
The country is facing massive Covid 19 wave with 300,000 people getting infected every day. The unavailability of oxygen facilities in health care centers have been creating a state of anxiety amongst the citizens.
India’s biggest hope lies in this mass vaccination drive tending to citizens above the age of 18.
